COMME des GARÇONS' 2017 Spring/Summer Collection Is an Actual Work of Art
Rei Kawakubo explores the experience of being female with her latest creations.
For the 2017 spring/summer season, COMME Des GARÇONS has once again presented a conceptual collection that challenges the idea of fashion. Rei Kawakubo has created a range of avant-garde, sculptural pieces that questions the experience of being a woman. Alluding to pregnancy, the collection sees a cape-like coat with a huge cut-out hole that reveals a swollen belly. Another look features a black dress decorated with a Peter Pan collar similar to that of a schoolgirl’s uniform. Moreover, the designer’s signature polka dots and tartan have also made their appearance on the runway. Browse the gallery above to see the entire lineup.
