Jerry Lorenzo and His Crew Donate Fear of God Clothing on Skid Row
The designer gives back to the homeless, instead of gifting to “influencers.”
The hype behind Fear of God is real — drops count long lines to purchase and Jerry Lorenzo’s own friends hoping for handouts. “The fact that I’m getting hit by all of my rich cool friends that definitely can afford to buy these that want free shoes… to the kids that stand in line for hours to buy a pair just to flip them, the value of the shoe to me is lost,” he admits. Following the latest sold-out FOG drop at PacSun, he packed two trucks of merchandise from the collaboration with the store and Vans along with his own original pieces to give to the homeless on Skid Row in downtown Los Angeles, rather than gifting to “influencers.” “I’m in a position to do something good and impact some people,” he says. “That’s what we’re going to do.”
