shememes Revisits "Y2K" Pop Culture with Its Kitschy Inaugural Collection
A sweet throwback to the 2000s.
Streetwear label shememes has recently presented its first-ever collection, “Y2K.” Drawing inspiration from the pop cultural scene of the 2000s, the brand’s inaugural range sees a handful of logo T-shirts and caps, all designed with a touch of humor. In particular, the collection addresses the current state of fashion through parody designs based off of products by Thrasher, Nike, Von Dutch and the like. Having previously lived in Shanghai and London, shememes’ designer Heidinski attempts to fuse the cultures of the East and the West through designing a series of kitschy graphic prints. Among the mix are T-shirts featuring Hollywood icons like Leonardo DiCaprio, as well as designs highlighting traditional Chinese prints. Browse the gallery above to see it for yourself.
Retailing between $30 USD and $40 USD, you can now shop the “Y2K” collection over at shememes’ web store.
