Eastpak has brought together some of fashion’s biggest names for this year’s Eastpak Artist Studio 2016. A total of 11 designers — plus this year’s Wildcard Competition Winner Zeba Safdar — will be offering their personal interpretations of the classic Eastpak padded Pak’r backpack. Set to create these original works of art will be Kenzo, Vetements, Christopher Raeburn, Nicopanda, AMI Paris, Wanda Nylon, House of Holland, Jacquemus, Giambattista Valli, Alexandre Vauthier and Inan. Bringing to life their respective creative visions, each “blank canvas” is completely transformed and in doing so, raising awareness for HIV/AIDS around the globe. Each designer’s contribution will go to providing support for the charity organization, Designers Against AIDS.
With Kenzo rolling out its unique design today, we get a first look at Demna Gvasalia‘s rendering for Vetements, which is set to drop on November 16. For his distinctive piece, the Georgian designer opts for a red and black palette. Creating an off-kilter silhouette, a third shoulder strap is added and placed into a vertical position on the top of the bag. In typical Vetements fashion, Gvasalia takes a well-recognized profile and completely reimagines it.
