Ariana Grande Speaks Out Against Male Fan Who "Objectified" Her
“We are not objects or prizes. We are QUEENS.”
Last night, Ariana Grande took to Twitter to reveal details about a recent unpleasant encounter with a fan. The singer explains on social media that she was with her boyfriend Mac Miller when a male fan approached them, saying to Miller, ”Ariana is sexy as hell, man. I see you hitting that!” The artist speaks openly about the demeaning experience, stating that it “may not seem like a big deal” but she “felt sick and objectified.”
Grande writes:
Things like [this] happen all the time and are the kinds of moments that contribute to women’s sense of fear and inadequacy. I am not a piece of meat that a man gets to utilize for his pleasure … We need to share and be vocal when something makes us feel uncomfortable because if we don’t, it will just continue. We are not objects or prizes. We are QUEENS.
