Flower power.
Christopher Kane’s 2016 fall/winter collection was an amalgam of fashions, all based on a hoarding obsession. Plastic head scarves abound, you will have noticed the inventive combinations of a sheer bodysuit under a two-toned mink coat or the multi-colored fringe trimmed dresses. Yet, there was a distinctly feminine note, or more accurately, a flower explosion — prints of decaying florals on chiffon slips to dresses patched together with strips of satin ribbon and crochet blooms made frequent occurrences throughout. It was all confusingly cohesive but definitely a Kane original.
