Calvin Klein’s most recent print campaign (featuring the tagline “I _______ in #mycalvins”) has garnered much attention thanks to the high-profile stars attached to the project, including Kendall Jenner, FKA Twigs, Justin Bieber, Fetty Wap, Kendrick Lamar and more. Featuring a fairly standard set of imagery, the photoset was nothing revolutionary compared to some of the brand’s more controversial concepts in the past – you might recall Justin Bieber’s Photoshop accusations, or the uproar that Mark Wahlberg created when he posed with a then 17-year-old, topless Kate Moss. However, none have been as cheesy or bizarre as CK’s latest ad.
In the short clip, we see Kendall posing in her Calvins while two semi-nude men surround her, performing some kind of dance wrestling. Incorporating elements of voyeurism and plenty of lustful eye contact, the short film is altogether quite confusing and not to mention, cheesy. To top it all off, Jenner ends the video with a voiceover of her saying, “Together we are stronger than we could ever be alone.” Alright, then.
