After a string of rumors speculated whether or not Apple would indeed be dropping a smaller iPhone, whispers have finally been confirmed with an official announcement at Cupertino earlier today. The compact 4-inch iPhone SE draws heavy design inspiration from the 5S but is packed with the power of the contemporary 6S and 6S Plus models, thanks to an A9 chip and M9 motion processor. The new SE boasts a slew of advanced features that includes a 12MP iSight camera (with Focus Pixels and True Tone flash), Retina flash for its forward-facing camera, 4K video capabilities, high speed 802.11ac Wi-Fi (as well as Wi-Fi calling), 50% faster LTE, Apple Pay and Touch ID.
The iPhone SE will be available in four metallic options: space gray, silver, gold and rose gold. Starting at $399 USD, the phone comes in a 16GB and 64GB option. The iPhone SE drops on March 31. To learn more, you can head over to apple.com.
