The Vetements designer brings modern elegance to Balenciaga as the brand’s new creative director.
Taking over the reins from Alexander Wang as the new creative director for Balenciaga, many held esteemed expectations as to what Demna would bring to the brand – and they were not disappointed. For Balenciaga’s 2016 fall/winter collection, the Georgian designer draws inspiration from Cristóbal’s meticulous tailoring style and injected his flavor of modern elegance that will appeal to the customers of today. His collection had the crowd swooning over his garments created with a forward-leaning technical cut that takes the profile of the everyday woman into consideration, clothes that women will want to wear on a daily basis. While Demna had expressed that he was nervous about his debut with Balenciaga, that should be the least of his worries now. With such positive reactions to his debut collection, we are most likely in for plenty of more surprises from Demna for Balenciaga. View the full collection in the gallery above.
