Calvin Klein's #mycalvins Billboard Under Fire for Sexism
“I seduce in #mycalvins.”
Calvin Klein is no stranger to provocative controversy — this being one of those instances. Part of its wider #mycalvins spring/summer campaign, the brand pasted two of those ads — “I seduce in #mycalvins” and Fetty Wrap’s “I make money in #mycalvins” – in SoHo, New York to some outrage.
Heidi Zak of lingerie brand ThirdLove, condemned the campaign commenting, “It’s striking that almost a century after women won the right to vote, companies like yours are still propagating these offensive and outdated gender stereotypes: Men go to work and make money, while women are nothing more than sex objects.” Zak then started the Change.org petition, “Take Down Sexist Billboard In NYC.” Thoughts?
