Nicolas Ghesquière’s latest presentation for Louis Vuitton in the Fondation Louis Vuitton saw 200,000 hand-fixed shattered mirrors refract the collection coming down the runway into a million fragments. The looks itself were a lesson about history — a combined aesthetic of motor sports and military notes told in patent leather and graphic silk. The ex-Balenciaga creative director commented, “we had an idea of this trip, of a woman who could be a digital heroine, like Tomb Raider, when she discovers an archaeological site.” Louis Vuitton wraps up Paris Fashion Week with another impressionable presentation.
