If you think that the modern array of desserts is enough to satisfy your sweet tooth, think again. To celebrate Macaron Day (March 20), pastry chef François Payard has created a new brilliant concoction, the “Macaronut” – the marriage of a macaron and a donut. Coming in the size of a macaron but the shape of a donut (and complete with sprinkles), the treats will be available on Macaron Day in a strawberries-and-cream flavor, going for $5 USD a piece at Payard’s bakery.
