Babyghost's East-Meets-West Aesthetic Hits Some Streetwear Notes Too
Seen in Fall/Winter 2016 lookbook-cum-presentation shots.
Babyghost designers, Josh Hupper and Qiaoran Huang’s 2016 fall/winter lookbook-cum-presentation references jin sha, the repair of broken jade using pure gold. The bi-continental duo who call New York and Shanghai home, cater to an East-meets-West aesthetic, merging skate culture and Chinese art. Hints of streetwear throughout, this Asian Morrissey-inspired collection nods to ’90s grunge, seen in selections of floor-skimming silhouettes, combat boots, and pattern aplenty. “Babyghost is the light of the world” said one T-shirt, and we kind of agree.
