Four More 'Avatar' Sequels Are Confirmed by James Cameron

“It’s going to be a true epic saga.”

Although previously announced that the Avatar series would be receiving three sequels, director James Cameron made an unexpected appearance at CinemaCon and announced that there would, in fact, be four more installments to come. He explained that he needed more sequels to tell the Avatar universe’s entire saga. Camera also revealed his plans to release Avatar 2 for Christmas 2018, with the sequels hitting theaters on Christmas for three straight years following that. Although the saga is currently still in its conceptual phase, the legendary director seems to have a fairly clear vision of where he wants to take the narrative. He notes, “The art I’m seeing is, in pure imagination, really far beyond the first film,” and adds: “It’s going to be a true epic saga.” Stay tuned here for more details.
