This 'Man Servants' Service Will Help You Get Over Your Ex

Pick a Greek god from the luxury service’s roster to make you feel like a queen.

Sure, some of us want to go out with our girlfriends after a bad breakup and party until dawn but some may prefer something that doesn’t involve a hangover and unexplained bruises in the morning. Enter ManServants, a luxury service that provides Greek gods in a  pristine suit for hire – as the site itself advertises, “A Man, But Better.” Such archetypes that you can rent include an Office Manservant, Cabana Manservant, Heartbreak Manservant, Arm Candy Manservant and Domestic Manservant. Hosted by Mish Way, lead singer of punk three-piece White Lung, VICE’s Broadly. explores what exactly hiring a ManServant means.

First founded in 2014, founders Josephine Wai Lin and Dalal Khajah walk us through everything from the four-hour service cap (so that women don’t become disillusioned with the “magic” of the experience) to the service’s reaction to a “swipe-right” culture. Boasting an 8% acceptance rate (which Lin notes is more demanding than some Ivy League schools), the company’s roster of manservants undergoes an intensive casting process that specifically seeks to find the unicorns in the pack. Each man is trained to treat women with respect and admiration, with the time spent together meant to be a social experience, and not with an intent for companionship. If you’re looking to hire a man servant though, get ready to pay a premium – the services start at $125 USD. To learn more about ManServants, you can watch the short film above.
