'The Art of Beauty' Book on Naomi Campbell Is a Literal Work of Art
A two-volume, 496-page retrospective into the supermodel’s life and career thus far.
Naomi Campbell’s reign is far from over but Taschen presents The Art of Beauty, an anthological retrospective on the supermodel’s life. The two-part composition offers an extensive, 496-page look into the commemorative moments in her career, of course including being the first black model on the covers of French Vogue and TIME. Volume 1 celebrates those covers along with highlights of her vast portfolio, shot by world renowned photographers. Volume 2 serves a more autobiographical purpose, with never-before-seen personal snapshots among her other work used to illustrate Campbell’s personal account, stemming from her childhood to now. The book itself further elucidates art by its presentation in an acrylic box created by British artist Allen Jones, who sought to encapsulate not just her body but also the supermodel’s role in contemporary culture.
Each signed by Campbell herself, 1,000 copies of The Art of Beauty are now available to order at Taschen for $1,750 USD.
