Osklen's 2016 Spring/Summer Campaign Is Shot Entirely on an iPhone
Is this the future of fashion photography?
Brazilian beachwear label Osklen has teamed up with Apple to shoot its latest 2016 spring/summer campaign entirely on an iPhone 6 Plus. As reported by WWD, Apple’s fashion marketing director Anna del Mar has revealed that this project will be the first time that the tech giant has ever partnered with an international fashion brand to produce both a photograph and video lookbook. Creating an entirely digital launch, Osklen will be using 20 iPad Pros to debut the 25-look collection. Bypassing the traditional trend of using physical models, the digital platform will be unveiled at the clothier’s new flagship in São Paulo’s Vila Madelena quarter. Designer Oskar Metsavaht says that by shooting with an iPhone 6, “I can get closer to my audience, show my style point of view. I love fashion photography and use the iPhone in my work. It’s such an intimate, everyday-life instrument.” You can see the full campaign when it debuts on April 26 at São Paulo Fashion Week.
