Wet and Qiu Yang Explore The Eeriness of the Unfamiliar in 'The Resistance'
A short film scored by the Brooklyn-based band.
Following the release of their first album at the top of this year, Wet has been lauded to be a major breakout act. The Brooklyn-based trio served a project that toes indie and synthpop while managing to evoke R&B tones of love and loss. Don’t You was the introduction for many, but their unique sound extends long before it. Rewind to last year when they collaborated with award-winning artist Qiu Yang to score The Resistance, which is only now seeing its debut.
Hassan Rahim, who oversaw creative direction over Wet’s album art, acts as creative director in the above three-minute short — an exploration of the range in emotion and the intrusion of the unfamiliar. Watch as frightness quickly settles in before being pacified with an overall calmness, set to the accompanying raw-then-soft music.
