How a Fashion Editor Transforms a Tiny Brooklyn Studio into a Spacious Home

In just 400-square feet, somewhere on the border between Bed-Sty and Bushwick.

With just 400-square feet somewhere on the border between Bedford-Stuyvesant and Bushwick, a cramped interior would seem to be inevitable. Yet, Racked’s fashion editor Nicola Fumo has managed to turn her studio into a cosy, warm and homey living space, a far cry from the uninviting cold vibes you usually get from a minimalistic apartment. Because of limited space, Fumo adopts her design-focused eye for the minimal in arranging her studio, making very calculated choices for her furniture and fixtures. And even though the studio seems aesthetically pleasing enough, the editor still thinks it looks a tad less than perfect, constantly rearranging it to soften the “bachelor pad” aesthetic of the home and enhancing her preferences.  Check out the gallery above for a tour of her home.
