Beyoncé Pays Homage to Gucci Mane With A Little "Lemonade"
While wearing a Gucci jacket, too.
When Beyoncé first announced she’d be calling her then-upcoming mysterious project LEMONADE, the Beyhive began to buzz over exactly what it would be while the rest of the Internet was sure to point out that the title wasn’t completely original. Before Bey’s later-to-be-revealed cinematic presentation of her sixth studio album, there was Gucci Mane’s 2009 hit single of the same name. The singer made no mention of his song, instead referring to her grandmother’s lemonade recipe and husband Jay Z’s grandmother’s reference to turning lemons into lemonade in a speech shown during the visual.
Nearly a month following its release, Beyoncé is paying her respects to the Atlanta rapper, sharing a new visual of herself and Blue Ivy as a brief clip of Gucci’s “Lemonade” plays in the background. Even more, the mother-daughter duo wear matching embroidered denim jackets from Italian fashion house Gucci. Get a look at the meta moment below.
