There is a reason why the Air Max 1 is also known as the Air Max ’87, because that was the year that Tinker Hatfield and Nike created and launched the first Air Max 1. To underscore this fact to the general public, Nike has just released an Air Max 1 that features a simple, old-school colorway, accented with a jarring “87” painted on the back of the heel. Upon closer inspection, the sneaker sports a primary colorway of white, complemented with neutral hues on the tongue, collar and toe box. Seasoned sneakerheads will find this similar to the Nike Air Flight ’89 released back in 2015, and it is good to know that this new ’87 release is of the same premium-grade as that of the Air Flight ’89.
