Yaaas Queen: Her Majesty Elizabeth II Covers 'Vanity Fair' Latest Issue
Shot by Annie Leibovitz, Britain’s longest reigning monarch posed in her Windsor Castle home.
In honor of her 90th birthday Queen Elizabeth II — and her Pembroke Welsh corgis — covered Vanity Fair‘s latest issue. Famed photographer Annie Leibovitz shot the monarch in her Windsor Castle home garbed in her signature monochromatic blue and Gucci loafers. Britain’s longest-reigning monarch also posed with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her husband, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh; her daughter, Anne, the Princess Royal; and her beloved corgis.
“The most moving, important thing about this shoot is that these were all her ideas,” says Leibovitz. “I was told how relaxed she was at Windsor, and it was really true. You get the sense of how at peace she was with herself, and very much enthralled with her family.” The Summer cover drops June 7.
