'Rocky Horror Picture Show' Reboot Stars Transgender Actress Laverne Cox
The cult classic returns this fall.
When Rocky Horror Picture Show first debuted in 1975, it immediately became a cult classic. FOX is airing a two-hour reboot of the musical with a few modern updates while still maintaining the essence of what made the original such a hit. The newly released trailer offers a first look at the main characters, Orange is the New Black‘s Laverne Cox being the star as she takes on gender-bending antagonist Dr. Frank-N-Furter — a significant role for the transgender actress — first played by Tim Curry. Also seen are Victoria Justice and Ryan McCartan playing the stranded couple and Reeve Carney as butler Riff Raff. Christina Millian, Adam Lambert and Annaleigh Ashford will also appear, with Curry as the narrating criminologist. Preview the remake’s teaser above ahead of its release this fall.
