American Apparel Supports LGBTQ Community with “Make America Gay Again” Campaign
Part of the proceeds go towards the Equality Act.
American Apparel has always been at the forefront of advocating equality for all, regardless of one’s racial background or sexual orientation. Given that it is now LGBT history month, it seems like a perfectly apt time for the pro-equality brand to co-launch a new campaign entitled “Make America Gay Again” with the Human Rights Campaign and Ally Coalition. The collection consists of items ranging from T-shirts, tank tops, a tote, and a baseball hat, characterized either by the campaign’s bold slogan or by rainbow-colored prints. Apart from clothing, online video content and in-store events are incorporated in the campaign in hopes of raising awareness for gender equality.
Retailed at prices from $24 to $30 USD, the campaign’s merchandise can now be purchased online and at select American Apparel stores, as well as on Human Rights Campaign’s website. Thirty-percent of the proceeds will go towards the Equality Act to help fight against LGBTQ discrimination.
