Converse Applies Nike Technology to Its New All Star Modern
Unveiling a contemporary take on the classic basketball shoe.
Converse takes a step in the contemporary direction with the unveiling of its all-new shoe. The All Star Modern bridges the gap with the past and the future — its inspiration dating back to the original All Star sneaker from 1920 — by taking the classic basketball silhouette and updating with technology never-before-seen on its models. Nike Hyperfuse lends itself to the silhouette that sees a circular knit upper featuring a neoprene-split tongue and lining and a TPU-fused toecap, all on top of a Phylon outsole. The result is a lightweight, fresh spin on the fan favorite.
Launching alongside the brand’s HTM-collaborated version, expect to see more of the All Star Modern this year — but for now, find the shoe in black, red, green, blue and white priced at $130 and $140 USD for the low and high-top versions respectively at select Converse retailers starting June 16.
