Thanks to Gosha Rubchinskiy, Russian fashion has been experiencing a Renaissance of sorts. With all eyes on the photographer-cum-designer, the streetwear mainstay considers Moscow’s youth culture as one of his most significant sources of inspiration. Exploring this concept further, photographer Dmitri Gerasimov and stylist Svetlana Bevz collaborate on a HYPEBAE exclusive editorial entitled, “The Hidden House of New Moscow.” Set in an abandoned site close to the center of Moscow, the derelict conditions exemplify the harsh reality that preceded the city’s current rising underground culture. Incorporating the nation’s difficult past, the images integrate a modern sense of hope into an otherwise haunting location strewn with the remnants of its history. Eastern European underground fashion inspires the images through pieces from the likes of Gosha Rubchinskiy, ZDDZ by Dasha Selyanova, Anton Belinskiy,Подмост Скейтбординг, and Darkdron.
