Though most of the films in his portfolio are action-based, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson comes to life in a new way in Disney’s upcoming Moana. A tale about one girl’s voyage across the South Pacific in exploration of new lands and herself, she’s accompanies by Maui, played by Johnson, who offers to help in the journey. His character comes from Polynesian mythology — he’s a fallen demigod whom Moana ends up helping to find his way. Meet the spirited Maui above before the animated film hits theaters November 23.
