Gucci 2017 Resort Takes Over Westminster Abbey With Its Bohemian Muse
The seat cushion was the most Instagrammed thing.
Alessandro Michele’s bohemian vision took over Westminster Abbey during Gucci’s 2017 resort presentation. The designer tapped the English eccentric to showcase a tartan and Union Jack-filled collection that still spoke to romantic punk rock. Kaleidoscopic color and animal graphic covered rainbow knits and patchwork jumpers. There were also distressed drawn-on denim and frilly A-line gowns — elegant play at work here.
Guests were seated on Gucci custom wildlife-embroidered cushions — it’s reported to be the most photographed detail there. “Fashion is about clothes and colours – it’s not serious; I’m not serious. I try to have fun always” said Michele. Check out the collection above and see its entirety here.
