Gucci Teams Up with Condé Nast to Create a Modern Mythical Film Series
Directed by Gia Coppola and set to original music by Devonté Hynes.
Gucci has just released a four-part film series in collaboration with mass media giant Condé Nast’s branded content studio 23 Stories. Inspired by 2500-year-old Greek mythology, the video series entitled “The Legend of Orpheus and Eurydice” is a dreamy visual presentation of the Italian luxury brand’s 2016 pre-fall collection, styled by costume designer Arianne Phillips and set to original music by Devonté Hynes. Cast for the roles involved in the film’s tragic love triangle are French singer Lou Doillon, as well as models Laura Love and Marcel Castenmiller. To reinterpret the ancient tale with a modern twist, director Gia Coppola (Palo Alto, 2013) sets the series against contemporary New York cityscapes, featuring iconic landmarks such as Central Park and East Village in Manhattan.
