Hood By Air Delivers a Jaw-Dropping Dystopian Performance at MADE LA
An unconventional fashion show that engages all five senses.
During MADE LA last weekend, NYC-based designer Shayne Oliver showcased a special collection from his label Hood By Air through an idiosyncratic performance presentation. In stark contrast to the sunny image of Los Angeles, the collection entitled “Hallways” was unveiled in a dim-lit and smoky setting. Led by musician Yves Tumor, models in super-long sleeved tops and oversized cargo pants slammed into each other vigorously on a mound of dirt. The audience was not spared from the imaginary battle either, as models ran between members of the crowd while entering and leaving the presentation space. It is safe to say that this dystopian show appealed to all five senses — from sight, sound, and smell, to feeling and touch.
