Kenzo 2017 Resort Collection Celebrates Clubbers and Partiers
Carol Lim and Humberto Leon turn the show into a disco party.
Kenzo’s 2017 resort-cum-men’s 2017 spring/summer collection is Carol Lim and Humberto Leon’s homage to ’90s West Coat club-life and a remembrance to those sweat-drenched, strobe light nights. Todd Terry’s DJ nano-set soundtrack pulsed amid cliques of “club kids” heading down in “house-jungle-techno-trance–ready” garb.
In its own words:
“Nightlife is the soul of any city. Growing up in L.A., we had West Coast club life, but New York nightlife was what we craved. This collection pays homage to club lore that narrates our past and paves the way for tomorrow. Long live the venues and parties that will create and incubate the legends to come.”
It wasn’t altogether cohesive but it worked. Three lads wore olive green ensembles that combined berets with windbreakers with sandals. Others wore eyelet-covered denim outfits or pants pulled low to reveal boxer shorts. Check out the presentation below — too bad it’s only a Tuesday, cause we’re now in the mood to party.
