Kylie Jenner made her PUMA premiere earlier this month with the debut of her Fierce sneaker — which bears striking resemblance with Rihanna’s Fenty Trainer. The lip gloss grandee returns for another round, this time with a campaign that’s a throwback to a silhouette that paved the way for the brand’s popularity. Kylie looks like she stepped into a time machine: acid-wash denim, oversized glasses and bamboo earrings all scream ’80s and ’90s, especially when set in a tagged-up subway car or near phone booths. On her feet are pairs of the PUMA Suede, which although were largely seen on hip-hop artists, b-boys and athletes of that area, actually date back to 1968 — nearly 30 years before the 18-year-old was born.
