Alexa Chung Finally Launches Her Namesake Fashion Label
“I feel as though I’m kind of prepared to do it now.”
British It-girl Alexa Chung has just announced the launch of her own fashion label Alexachung. After participating in numerous successful collaborations with brands including AG Jeans, Marks & Spencer and Superga, as well as being the muse that inspired Mulberry‘s Alexa bag, the trendsetter is finally building her own line of ready-to-wear clothing. “I feel as though I’m kind of prepared to do it now. If it had been any time sooner than this, I either wouldn’t be responsible enough or have been able to take on this kind of feat,” said Chung in an interview with Business of Fashion.
As the creative director of her company, the 32-year-old style icon will be overseeing a team of six designers who have previously served for luxury fashion houses, or have worked in the music and art industries. Haider Ackermann’s former head of atelier Edwin Bodson has been appointed by Chung to be her brand’s managing director. You can expect to purchase contemporary-priced products ranging from denim, daywear, eveningwear, shoes, and jewellery from the label.
Keep an eye on Alexachung’s first collection, which is set to be out May 2017 at select luxury retailers such as Selfridges, Galeries Lafayette, MyTheresa, Matchesfashion.com, and SSENSE. We will keep you updated as the brand develops.
