The Beyoncé Collaborator Who Wrote "Becky with the Good Hair" Releases New Song
Drop everything now and listen to Diana Gordon’s sultry new track “The Legend Of.”
Although you might not recognize her name, Diana Gordon is an immensely prolific songwriter who has worked with the likes of Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys and Travis Scott. Hardcore Beyoncé fans might also recognize Gordon as a co-writer of several songs on Queen Bey’s latest album Lemonade, including the tracks “Sorry” (yes, she was the one who wrote the “Becky with the good hair” line), “Daddy Lessons,” and “Don’t Hurt Yourself.” Now stepping into the spotlight herself, the singer-songwriter drops her own song entitled “The Legend Of,” which marks the first time that she has ever released music under her given name (she previously went by her moniker Wynter). You can listen to the full track below via The Fader, and can also read the poem that she wrote about the track.
