Essentials: Khalila Douze, Genius Social Media Manager
Necessities for someone who eats, sleeps and breathes the Internet.
Some people are simply Internet-obsessed — perhaps they just have too much time on their hands. Such is not the case with Khalila Douze. The Internet is her livelihood: she eats, sleeps and breathes it. One of her must-have items is Limor Shifman’s Memes in Digital Culture, after all. While Genius is working to annotate the world, Khalila has been defining the brand’s online voice since joining the team as social media manager earlier this year. The Miami native still keeps her past — both in work and life — close, sharing with us her favorite issue of FADER, where she also worked as social media editor and manager to build online content, and a souvenir from Paris that reminds her of where she lived for a few years prior.. Obviously her computer is always nearby, but not too far away are her means of recharging: she burns palo santo to balance surrounding energy once a week and finds quiet time within the pages of The Turner House.
