Watch This Designer Transform His Furniture Pieces into 2D Art
It’s almost like magic.
A student from Netherland’s Eindhoven Design Academy has recently created a collection of furniture that can be collapsed into 2D art. Entitled “De-Dimension,” the series features foldable stools and benches created by Korean design major Jongha Choi. Once the pieces of furniture are flattened into their 2D form, they can then be hung on walls as colorful decor. Speaking of his novel concept of furniture art, Choi explains: “In our current situation, in which modern society experiences the image, in relation to advertising, image circulation and the Internet, why do we not question an image’s confinement to a flat surface?” Watch the video above to learn more about the design project.
