Rihanna Is an Alien Stripper in Upcoming Sci-Fi Flick

Rihanna’s acting reign is not letting up. Following the announcement that the singer will star in season five of Bates Motel comes a look at her next big-screen role in Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. Comic-Con attendees got a sneak peek of the singer in action, and although that video has yet to hit the internet, the above footage has surfaced to give us a glimpse at the Bad Gal behind the scenes as an alien stripper.
According to attendees, Ethan Hawke’s character owns a strip club where she works — she walks up and her character is revealed. Everyone involved with the movie remains tight-lipped, with co-star Cara Delevingne only saying “she’s phenomenal” and director Luc Besson tweeting, “I chose her as an actress not as a singer, and I was surprised with what a gifted actress she is!”
Rihanna has played an exotic dancer via “Pour It Up,” and in her “Sledgehammer” music video she was an unearthly being — sounds like this new gig combines the best of both intergalactic worlds. We’ll find out once Valerian releases in July 2017.
