There's a New Movie About Alexander McQueen and His Patron Isabella Blow
‘The Ripper’ explores the intricate relationship between the late designer and his muse.
A new movie about Alexander McQueen and his muse and patron Isabella Blow is currently in the works. Entitled The Ripper, the upcoming drama is produced by Maven Pictures. The film will explore the intricate relationship between the late designer and the famously flamboyant fashion editor.
Back in 1992, Blow spotted McQueen’s work presented at the Central Saint Martins MA graduate show. Dubbed “Jack the Ripper,” McQueen’s collection was purchased by Blow for a handsome amount of £5,000 GBP. In the subsequent years, Blow became a close friend of McQueen, and had continued to show her support to the designer in any way possible. Despite the untimely deaths of both fashion icons, the duo have remained among the most influential figures within the industry.
As of right now, details regarding The Ripper‘s release date are still sparse. Stay tuned for updates as production develops.
