Barbie Is a Tinderzilla in The Big Moon's Hilarious "Silent Movie Susie" Video
She swipes left and right just like we do.
London-based band The Big Moon has tapped the legendary Barbie doll for their new music video. Set to the all-female group’s track “Silent Movie Susie,” the video depicts Barbie as a veterinarian who has been cheated on by her boyfriend. Upon discovery of her significant other’s misbehaviour, Barbie performs an operation haphazardly on a poor dog. To redeem herself, the doll eventually goes on Tinder to find herself some company. She even attends a fun-filled concert starring the Barbie version of The Big Moon, of course.
Speaking of the idea behind this cleverly hilarious video, the band explains:
We sent the song to our pal Louis who’s made some wonderful vids with us before. He found this doll in a market and sent us some videos of him playing out little scenes with her and it was hilarious, so we decided to turn it into a whole story! We just sat in a cafe thinking of things that would be funny if they were done by a doll, which turns out is pretty much everything. Whittling down the ideas was difficult so someday we hope to make the feature film.
