Baggu's "Thank You" Bag Is a Glorified Chinese Take-Out Bag
Our next “Editor’s Pick” comes after Demna Gvasalia’s new Balenciaga Shoppers.
Repurposed laundry bags are the current “it” merch thanks to Demna Gvasalia’s new Balenciaga Shoppers – and they scream traditional Thai laundry bag. Opening Ceremony also released their own redesign on Chinatown’s plaid-counterpart.
Cons? Let’s look at the price breakdown. Balenciaga’s run between $1495 and $2525 USD, depending on the size. Too steep in my book considering Thailand’s price tag is $2 USD. Enter Baggu.
WHAT IS IT: Standard Baggu “Thank You”
WHY IT’S WORTH THE HYPE: Baggu’s shopper isn’t a laundry bag – it’s also not a “grocery bag” but close enough: an imitation on an item that’s original use rests alongside “household chore.” The Standard Baggu is reusable and can hold up to 50 pounds, equivalent to two-to-three plastic grocery bags worth. The bag can also origami down to a 5” x 5” pouch.
The Standard is available in multiple colors and size variations. “Thank You” is my personal pick – I mean the closer to a takeout bag the better right? At $9 USD the price is a steal – it’s the real deal.
WHERE YOU CAN FIND IT: Pick up your Baggu “Thank You” online here at a mere $9 USD.
