Facebook Copies Snapchat Again by Launching Olympics-Themed Filters and Stickers
After introducing Stories for Instagram.
After rolling out the new Stories feature for Instagram, Facebook once again launches its own filters and stickers blatantly similar to those of Snapchat. Released just in time for the Olympic Games, the social media giant now allows users in Canada and Brazil to take selfies with augmented reality technology. Users can post short videos taken with special Olympics-themed filters on their own Facebook timeline. The Snapchat-like filters are actually supported by MSQRD, a video effects company acquired by Facebook earlier this year.
