Stussy's Eccentric 2016 Fall Campaign Overindulges in Parisian Rebellion
Marie Antoinette meets street.
SoCal-bred Stussy wanders off to Paris where Tyrone Lebon lends a je na sais quoi to the campaign for Fall 2016. There, the photographer construes the energy from the City of Love into a photo series that’s rich in Parisian rebellion and young energy. The result is a depiction of France’s eccentricities: both the high and low culture are depicted via French surrealist portraiture and caricature elements. And then there’s the clothing — Stussy staples mix with couture pieces, like an archived coat from the ’50s and a custom bricolage dress made from reimagined Stussy graphics.
