Gosha Rubchinskiy's New Label Is Named PACCBET
Launched with 16-year-old muse Tolia Titaev, check out the new lookbook.
Gosha Rubchinskiy’s cult-status in current streetwear ranks high on the totem. But the designer is back with a new line – PACCBET – designed in tandem with pro-skater and muse Tolia Titaev. PACCBET’s lexicon is a slogan that’s repeated in Rubchinskiy’s own designs.
“We started to play with the notion of PACCBET and realized it was a perfect name for us! PACCBET (RASSVET) means sunrise. РАССВЕТ is a power, the beginning of a new day. A new day, a new life, a new world.”
Titaev said about PACCBET’s origin to Dazed:
“The idea of PACCBET originated a couple years ago when we started thinking about creating a new Russian skateboard brand. We had tried to make a few skateboards by ourselves in the past, with other names, but every time it was a disaster and we never managed to finish the projects.”
PACCBET’s debut collection gets the usual suspects – T-shirts, sweatshirt and skateboards are designed by Titaev. “We designed clothes to skate in. It’s mean streetwear I think.”
The range drops in Dover Street Market worldwide and at Paris Trading Museum on September 17.
