MISBHV ‘s graced us with great collections in the past including swimwear and Spring/Summer 2016 merch – but at NYFW Natalia Maczek and creative director Thomas Wirski debut a stand-alone MISBHV womenswear collection.
“Objects Of Desire” is a true testament to MISBHV’s vision – post-Soviet cool and a retro spin on an avant-garde tangent marks a zeitgeit mood. Thomas Wirski told us:
“The collection is somewhat both personal and abstract. It’s a look back at something very close to our hearts, East Euro early 2000s, but it’s also a fantasy, a dream which was reflected not only in garments but also in music and set design. We took strong elements of the early 2000 club aesthetic and elevated it using various means like deconstruction, embroidery, asymmetry. Also the use of fabrics is quite interesting and different. We have sourced / made most of the fabrics in Italy to find the perfect balance between the look of the fabric and it’s technical performance.”
Club nostalgia and modern youth glum translate onto the brand’s signature denim and leather with deconstructed chaps that also nod to a hard-edge motorcycle mood. Check out the lookbook above and stay tuned – our show editorial is coming.
