Opening Ceremony Addresses Important Social Issues in 2017 Resort Show
Tapping Rashida Jones, Natasha Lyonne, Aubrey Plaza and more for its comedy act, “Pageant of the People.”
For its 2017 resort show at New York Fashion Week, Opening Ceremony brings the attention of show-goers to an array of important social issues by incorporating a comedy act into its runway presentation. Entitled “Pageant of the People,” the show features a crew of well-known names like Rashida Jones, Natasha Lyonne and Jessica Williams, who lend their voices to address issues such as racial acceptance, LGBTQ rights, the refugee crisis and more. As for the resort collection itself, primary colors and striped patterns are prominent throughout the range. In addition, the creative duo debuts the all-silk, paisley Langford Parka and the unisex Chilliwack Bomber designed in collaboration with Canada Goose.
