Dior Dresses the New Generation of Women with Its 2017 Pre-Fall Collection
Blending the old with the new.
Following her successful debut collection for Dior, Maria Grazia Chiuri now unveils the 2017 pre-fall range for the Parisian luxury brand. Having moved to the French Capital from Rome last year, the Italian designer explained that she’s fascinated by the city’s character as “a magnet for bohemians.” As the designer says,
Christian Dior is a Parisian brand, so you have to feel this attitude that there is in the city. You can dress like you want, you can express how you feel. I feel this atmosphere of freedom in the city.
Created for a younger generation of women, the new collection pays tribute to the brand’s heritage, yet it incorporates contemporary elements at the same time. Classic prints such as mosaic patchwork and houndstooth are applied to more modern-looking silhouettes. Inspired by astrology, the range also sees a lineup of jewelry featuring the moon and the stars. Not to be overlooked is a range of beautiful leather handbags, finished with ethnic-style shoulder straps and golden hardware. Browse the gallery above to check out the entire collection.
