Unless you’ve been living under a rock, it is impossible that you’ve missed Bronx native Cardi B and her hit “Bodak Yellow” that reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. It’s been a monumental year for the singer, who’s made history by becoming the first unassisted female rapper to top the list in almost 19 years, and another big success has just come her way. Cardi has now signed a publishing deal with SONY/ATV Music Publishing, meaning that we can be expecting even more catchy tracks in the near future.
SONY/ATV Senior Director of A&R Jennifer Drake said, “Cardi B is honest, real and refreshing and has the confidence to say exactly what she is thinking and feeling. It’s tangible and you can connect to that. We are so proud to be able to work with a talented artist like Cardi and excited to see her push the culture forward,” and Cardi herself added “‘Bodak Yellow’ is only the beginning and we’re just getting started.”
