Creative Director Phoebe Philo Is Reportedly Leaving Céline
After nine years.
After joining Céline in 2008, Creative Director Phoebe Philo is now reportedly moving on from the luxury fashion house. According to anonymous sources, LVMH has been interviewing designers for a few months in order to find a replacement, and she’s said to be leaving by the end of the year. Over the past decade, Philo has turned the previously underperforming label into one of the biggest brands in the industry, and brought up annual sales from €200 million EUR to more than €700 million EUR according to analysts.
It remains to see who Philo will be passing on the torch to, but speculations say we could be looking at former Stella McCartney design director Natasa Cagalj or Ilaria Icardi, the design director at Victoria Beckham. What the designer plans to do next is also uncertain, but after her success at Céline she is ready to take on something new.
