Givenchy's Spring/Summer 2018 Show Marks the Beginning of a New Era

Designed by new artistic director, Clare Waight Keller.

The fashion world was shocked when Riccardo Tisci announced that he’d be leaving Givenchy earlier this year. Replacing him as the artistic director of the Parisian brand is Clare Waight Keller, who’s previously the leading lady at Chloé. After months in the making, the British designer finally delivered her debut Givenchy show during Paris Fashion Week.

As the first-ever female helmer of the fashion house, Keller injected a strong sense of femininity into the collection. Reminiscent of her days at Chloé, the show was filled with chiffon blouses and flowy dresses with delicate, pleated details. That being said, the collection still saw hints of Givenchy’s tougher and edgier side, with models strutting down the runway in boxy jackets, leather boots and chained accessories.
