American Apparel has come together with the organization Pencils of Promise to produce a charity capsule collection, from which the proceeds will go towards building new schools in Guatemala, Ghana and Laos. The campaign centers around the huge illiteracy issue many countries and childen children are facing, with one of the prints from the collection reading, “Two hundred fifty million kids can’t read this” in the bold American Apparel font. The second print is a simple “Promise” in the same classic lettering, available on tote bags, hoodies and T-shirts.

The collaboration launched on November 6, and is available at American Apparel. While you’re at it, head to Pencils of Promise to learn more about the project.
